Andrew Sparta
Andrew Sparta
Owner

"I'm not the boss; the person walking through the door is the boss", is one of Andrew's favorite sayings. Andrew grew up in Pleasantville, NY and attended Northeastern University where he studied business and engineering. After college he worked as a job superintendent and project manager for commercial building projects in Boston, MA, NY State and Vermont with organizations including Beth Israel Hospital, Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant and the City of St Albans, VT.

It was while living in Vermont that he traveled to Bennington where he met his wife Liza. After moving to Bennington he realized the need for a full service tile store while looking for materials for a rental property he had purchased.

Andrew and Liza opened their first tile store in a small shop in downtown Bennington on April 1, 1986. His commitment to providing quality materials at a fair price and their dedication to excellent customer service helped build their business and in 2005 they moved to the current Harwood Hill location.

A top priority for Andrew when working with a client is make sure they understand how a product will perform and how and where it should be installed. Andrew realized one of these dreams a few years back when he earned his pilots license. He enjoys flying, watching basketball, spending time with his two teenage boys and Liza. "This business never gets boring" Andrew comments as he continues to hunt for ways to bring top quality products at affordable prices to the Southern Vermont area.
